 A hoarding is a substantial and fully sheeted screen a minimum of 1.8 metres in height and is used when protection is necessary or where construction work is of a more permanent nature. A hoarding is often used on a demolition site to exclude members of the public and to prevent debris from spilling or rebounding out of the site.

If there is a risk of an object or material used in construction work falling, whether from a crane or otherwise, onto people who are likely to be in the area that is in the vicinity of, but not on the construction site, a gantry is erected in the area.

'gantry' means a structure that is used:

• for the overhead protection of people;
• for the support of materials and people:and
• capable of withstanding all intended loads.

Lift entry gates are used during the construction phase of a multi story building to prohibit entry to open lift shafts by unauthorised personnel. The gates are designed to be bolted to either the wall either side of the lift void or the floor. Each gate comes with a tamper proof locking mechanism with the same master key opening each gate.

An alternative use for the gate is as a lockable temporary onsite storage cage.

Working at heights always involves the risk of potentially fatal falls. Minimise the risk by using a static line safety system. A static line is a fixed cord attached to a large stable object which stretches across the work area. it provides the worker constant safety, freedom of movement  and eliminates the need to frequently attach to different safety points. Static lines are therefore less tedious and safer to use than other safety systems.

Permanent static lines can be used during the construction of a building, as well as providing safe access for maintenance procedures into the future.
